Fashion Designers of the Philippines (FDAP) partners with the Filipino Heritage Festival

The Fashion Designers of the Philippines (FDAP),recently partnered with the Filipino Heritage Festival, Inc. (FHFI) and SM Megamall to hold an event last May 20 called the Metamorphosis. This event featured a variety of pieces made by Filipino designers, from the usual ternos (butterfly sleeved dresses) to street wear with a Filipino twist.

Thirty designers worked and participated in the fashion show with 20 participating in the exhibit which was on view last May 22.

“The reason for that, we sometimes have foreign visitors who want to wear Filipiniana, but cannot wear it with butterfly sleeves all the time. It was modernized so it can be used daily,” FHFI President Armita B. Rufino said. “(It was an) evolution of Filipino attire… clothes that are very modern, but with some Filipino touches to make it more wearable.”
